What is an eco-cheque?
An eco-cheque (also called an eco-voucher) is a fringe benefit that private-sector employers in Belgium can give their employees. It is used to buy environmentally friendly products and services, listed in collective labour agreement no. 98 of the National Labour Council.
Today, most are electronic eco-cheques, loaded onto a card or into your issuer’s app.
Check your balance’s expiry date in your app: it is often just before Christmas that people find eco-cheques about to expire.

What can you buy with eco-cheques?
It’s a question we hear every year: what can you buy with eco-cheques when getting ready for the holidays? The official list includes trees and plants. A real Christmas tree is a living tree, so it falls into this category.
Some accessories also qualify, such as part of our range of LED Christmas tree lights. Eligible items show the following in their product details: Eco-cheques: Edenred - Monizze - Pluxee
Without this mention, the item cannot be paid for with eco-cheques. This is the case for artificial Christmas trees, which are not on the official list.

Can I pay for my Christmas tree with eco-cheques?
Yes. You can pay for our real Christmas trees with Edenred, Monizze or Pluxee eco-cheques, directly at online checkout.
Where can I use eco-cheques online?
In online shops approved by your issuer. Sapins.be accepts eco-cheques online from Edenred, Monizze and Pluxee.
Can I buy an artificial Christmas tree with eco-cheques?
No. Artificial Christmas trees are not on the official list of eligible products. Only items marked “Eco-cheques” in their product details can be paid for this way.
What if my eco-cheque balance is not enough?
You pay the difference by bank card or with another payment method offered at checkout.
How long are my eco-cheques valid?
An eco-cheque is valid for 24 months from the date it is issued. You can check the expiry date in your issuer’s app.
