2. What are cookies?

Cookies are small data or text files that are installed by websites on your local computer. Such cookies can have various purposes: for example, there are technical cookies (e.g. for language settings), session cookies (temporary cookies) and tracking cookies (cookies that will follow and remember your behaviour on the website, so as to be able to offer you a more optimal user experience). The Belgian Telecommunications Act contains a number of provisions on cookies and their use on websites. The Belgian implementation is derived from the European e-Privacy directive, which implies that the cookie use and cookie laws are regulated differently in each European country. Point “7. I don´t come from Belgium. Is a different form of consent required for my country?" gives you an overview of how each European country implements the cookie legislation

3. What are these cookies good for?

SAPINS.BE sprl wishes to inform you as well as possible about this new legislation, and about the cookies it uses. Cookies help SAPINS.BE sprl to optimise your visit to the website, to remember technical choices (for example a language choice, a newsletter, etc.), and to show you more relevant services and special offers. If you’d like to consult the SAPINS.BE sprl website, it is recommended that you activate the cookies. However, if you prefer not to do so, you are free to switch them off (see also the point "How can I manage my cookies?"). We use cookies to enhance your visit to our website. 6. I don't come from Belgium. Is a different form of consent required for my country?

SAPINS.BE sprl is a branch of an internationally-known company or group, and it is possible that not only Belgian nationals visit the website. The European Member States often implement the cookie legislation very differently, so that for the User it is difficult to see how his or her consent has to be given. Below is an overview of the European Member States, the implementation status of the cookie legislation and the (possible) manner of implementation. SAPINS.BE sprl strives to achieve the right manner of implementation per Member State, in so far as this is technically and materially possible.
