Christmas Accessories

The Christmas tree stand is the part nobody thinks about until the evening the tree goes up. For a real tree, choose a water-holding stand: a freshly cut tree drinks a great deal in the first few days, and that is what decides how well it holds. We stock two models, one for trees of 1 to 2 m and one for larger specimens of 2 to 3 m — wider and heavier, and essential above two metres. A pair of secateurs to freshen the cut at the base, and the tree starts drinking the same evening.

Once it is standing, the base is still on show. A tree skirt solves that and transforms the bottom of the tree: jute for a natural look, willow, wicker or rattan for a basket effect, red or tartan velvet for a classic Christmas, metal for a contemporary interior. Go generous on the size — 60 cm suits a 150 cm tree, but allow 70 cm or more above two metres.

For the finishing touches you will find tree toppers in glass and metal, red velvet bows from 155 to 230 cm for the banister or the front door, and clip-on flowers — poinsettias, roses, magnolias, metallic hydrangeas, berry sprigs — that pinch straight onto the branches. It is the quickest way to give a tree a dominant colour without redecorating it.

For the wintry effect: artificial snow spray in gold, silver or glow-in-the-dark, and snow mats to lay under the tree or along a windowsill.

Wrapping paper completes the set: kraft, Christmas patterns, red and white, with matching tags and gift bags. And for January, the tree disposal bag — slipped under the tree when you set it up, pulled up on the day you take it down — along with storage boxes to keep your baubles intact.

Order everything with your tree and it arrives in a single delivery, on the date you choose, anywhere in Belgium. See also our full range of Christmas decorations and accessories.
