Christmas Tree Hanging Ornaments

Christmas hanging ornaments do what baubles cannot. Where a bauble fills a space, an ornament draws the eye: by its shape, its length or its subject. The contrast between the two is what gives a tree its rhythm.

Vertical shapes

Glass icicles, drops, pendants, elongated snowflakes: these Christmas tree ornaments hang below the branch instead of sitting on it. They break up the horizontal tiers and lend the tree height — particularly useful on a wide tree or under a low ceiling.

Figures and subjects

Reindeer, owls, angels, snowmen, small trees, hearts, stars. These figurative ornaments are looked at one by one: they are what you show the children, and often what you keep from year to year. Wooden models withstand handling far better than glass.

Where to hang them

The rule fits in a sentence: ornaments at eye level, on the outer branches, plain baubles inside the tree and lower down. An ornament buried in the foliage is a wasted ornament. Leave space around it, and choose a branch angled slightly downwards so that it hangs straight.

In sets or individually

Matched sets — from 2 to 12 pieces — give a coherent result with no effort. Individual pieces are chosen one at a time and collected: that is how a household's decorations come to look like the household.

Complete the look with our Christmas baubles, a string of lights and our decoration boxes, already coordinated.
